Once you decide to donate your car, you have to execute the process. Complete the odometer reading on the title and sign it correctly. You are the seller, the charity is the buyer. In some states your signature has to be notarized. Sign your name as it appears on the title. If it is in a maiden name, sign it that way. If it is in the name of a deceased person, the executer must sign it. You will also need to provide a copy of the death certificate and the will or power of attorney. If you make a mistake on the title, do not scratch it out or use whiteout. It will void your title and you will have to get a duplicate.
